July is here which means it's time to head to Santa Clara for California Extreme, the annual arcade show that takes over the Hyatt Regency and fills it with hundreds of classic arcade machines and thousands of classic arcade nerds, myself included. Supercade will be there in full force with show specials on t-shirts and sundry items, including our limited edition anniversary pins. Come find us!
I'm also thrilled to be partnering with Soho House to launch a series of Supercade pop-up exhibitions, starting with West Hollywood in August. The club is for members only so you'll need to know someone with a membership to get in, but it is going to be incredibly cool and I look forward to sharing more details when I can. I'm so excited to be working with Soho House & Co. and really look forward to bringing the rich history of game culture to their houses around the world.
In other news, I've also curated the games for BEYOND THE STREETS and the show has been extended through August... this definitive survey of graffiti and street art – encompassing over 40K square feet of immersive installations by artists like Faile, Murakami, and Invader – is now on view at Werkartz downtown and is not to be missed. If you stop by the show, make sure you pick up a copy of the BTS exhibition catalog for my rad essay "Graffiti x Games" and don't forget to play some 720. SKATE OR DIE!
